Chiellini: Dominant Italy were deserving Euro 2020 winners

Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini insists his side were deserved winners in Sunday s Euro 2020 final against England after dominating from the moment they fell behind.

The Azzurri recovered from Luke Shaw s strike after one minute and 57 seconds – the earliest ever European Championship final goal – to win the competition for a second time.

Leonardo Bonucci levelled up for Italy with 67 minutes played, becoming the oldest scorer in a Euros final, and it was Roberto Mancini s side who prevailed 3-2 on penalties for their sixth major tournament title.

England had just 34.4 per cent of the ball, the Three Lions lowest figure at Wembley since drawing 2-2 with Spain in November 2016.

Italy also outshot their opponents 19 to six across the 120 minutes and C…

Euro 2020 final smashes viewership records in the United States

Italy and England combined to produce a nail-biting finale to Euro 2020, which was enjoyed by an average audience of 6.4 million viewers in the United States.

Those staggering viewership numbers meant the 2020 showpiece became the most-watched European Championship final in the USA, surpassing the previous record from the Euro 2012 final (4.5 million for Spain v Italy). Viewership increased 43 per cent on the 2016 final.

Even the first two games of the NBA Finals failed to produce better viewing figures, with the USA appearing to have savoured a memorable European Championship.

In fact, as Gianluigi Donnarumma s shoot-out heroics clinched Italy s first European Championship title since 1968, the audience in the United States peaked at 8.1 million, according…

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is elated with how his year went, and is aiming for even more success in 2013.

The goalkeeper was a crucial member of the Serie A-winning Juve team under Antonio Conte and helped Italy reach the final of Euro 2012, where they were beaten comfortably by Spain.

The 34-year-old wrote on his Facebook page: 2012 gave me a lot of joy.

Juventus bounced back to win the Scudetto, I had a beautiful European adventure with the national team, I lifted my first trophy as captain and then (Juve had) a really superb beginning to this season.

This group aims higher in every competition. In 2013 I hope to convey all my determination and confidence so that the team keep being able to fight on every front.

2024 NFL Preseason Betting: Find Value in Preseason Odds With These Expert Tips

To the uninitiated, betting on NFL preseason odds seems like something only a “degenerate” gambler would do. That, however, depends on how you approach those NFL preseason bets.

If you’re waiting to wager on exhibition games just before kickoff, color yourself a nice “degen” shade of green. But if you’re among the “sharper” set that loves to get down on these tune-up tilts, you know the real work is done in the days leading up to those preseason games.

At no other point in the NFL season will teams and coaches reveal their plans for that week’s games: from quarterback rotations to the playing time of starters to the focus of the offense and defense.

All that information is out there to fi…
