Report: Malaga chasing Keita signature

Malaga have sounded out Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita about a summer switch to La Rosaleda, a report has claimed.

The Mali international is highly regarded at Camp Nou but the 32-year-old has become frustrated by his bit-part role in recent seasons and is expected to leave at the end of the current campaign.

Keita has been heavily linked with AC Milan but Goal.com understands that Malaga have already held talks with the player s agent, Pascal Boisseau.

Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini has identified Keita as the ideal man to bolster his midfield and the club are more than willing to stump up the 10-million euros (8m pounds) Barca will most likely demand, to split with the former Sevilla star.

However, Boisseau has explained that his client is now eager to establish if he will be offered more game time under Tito Vilanova, who it was confirmed last week will be replacing current coach Pep Guardiola at the helm in the off-season.

Seydou has a future at the club for now, the agent told Esports Cope.

We will talk with the club s board before the Copa del Rey final.

Seydou also wants to meet with Tito to discuss their future together. And then he will make his own decision about the future.

Keita signed a four-year contract upon arriving in Catalunya from Sevilla in 2008 but then inked a new deal which ties him to the club for a further two seasons.
