Derby County have completed the signing of Aston Villa striker Darren Bent on loan for the rest of the season.
Bent, who joined Villa from Sunderland for £18 million in January 2011, has scored over 100 goals in the English Premier League, but will spend the second half of 2014/15 in the Championship.
The 30-year-old had spent the last two months on loan at Championship side Bright, where he bagged two goals in five league appearances for the club.
We are delighted to welcome Darren Bent to Derby County for the rest of the season, said Rams boss Steve McClaren.
I ve worked with him in the past and he brings significant Premier League and international experience with him.
He adds to our already excellent attacking options. Darre…
Nine-man Chelsea fell to a shock 3-2 home defeat against Burnley as their Premier League title defence began with a stunning upset.
Captain Gary Cahill was sent off after just 14 minutes for a challenge on Steven Defour, but that was just the start of the astonishing drama at Stamford Bridge.
Sam Vokes starred for Burnley with two of his side s three goals before half-time, Stephen Ward also netting in between the Wales striker s double.
In-form Vokes now has seven goals in his last six Premier League appearances after netting only five in the previous 58.
Antonio Conte gave Alvaro Morata 31 minutes from the substitutes bench on his Premier League debut and he scored with a header.
Any hopes of a recovery were dented when Cesc Fabregas was sent …
Newcastle United defender Davide Santon looks set to complete a return to Inter.
Davide Santon expects to seal a return to Inter on Monday after failing to make a single Premier League appearance at Newcastle United this season.
The defender has been a first-team regular at St James Park since his arrival in August 2011, but a knee injury has limited his opportunities this term.
Santon did feature in Newcastle s defeat to Leicester City in the FA Cup third round early in January, but has been an unused substitute in the subsequent league matches.
Life is strange, he wrote on his official Facebook page. I never expected to return [to Inter].
Thanks Newcastle and thanks to all the fans for these three and a half years together, we ve spent many go…
Federico Bernardeschi is holding up Paulo Dybala as the example to follow after being forced to remain patient in the early stages of his Juventus career.
The Italy international joined from Serie A rivals Fiorentina in a €40million switch in July, but was made to wait until Sunday for his first start in a Bianconeri jersey.
Bernardeschi enjoyed quite the impact, scoring the first and setting up Gonzalo Higuain for the second as Juve took a 2-0 lead against Atalanta, only to see their hosts level before Dybala missed a late penalty as the champions dropped points for the first time this season.
And Bernardeschi is happy to bide his time much like Dybala following his 2015 move from Palermo as he looks to establish himself in Massimiliano Allegri s plans.

Juno is the latest Support hero for Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch 2 and has been causing a stir since her first gameplay trailer. While officially out in Season 12, players can play her early for a limited time, starting now and ending on July 21st.
As a resident of Mars, Juno has a Mediblaster, which fires bursts of healing for allies and damages enemies. A new tweet showcases damage fall-off from range, but she can still output significant healing. Her alternate fire, Pulsar Torpedoes, locks on to all heroes and unleashes tracking shots to heal your allies and damage enemies.
It’s noteworthy for bending around corners, meaning you don’t have to maintain line-of-sight after firing. Orbital Ray is her Ultimate, unleashing a forward-…
Mikel Arteta allayed concerns over star signing Declan Rice’s fitness ahead of a potential first Arsenal appearance against the MLS All-Stars on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old midfielder completed his British record £105million move from West Ham to the Emirates Stadium at the weekend.
Rice travelled with his new team-mates to the United States but was unable to train in Washington DC on Monday, working on an exercise bike by the pitch.

“Obviously a lot has happened to him in the last five or six days.
